Movement and sound video installation (with live performance); Duration 10:11; 8 fabric panels, wooden dowels
Unmeasured No.1 addresses our disconnected rhythm of modern life. Framing an unaltered natural landscape devoid of people as a stage, I use my body to personify elements and qualities within the immediate environment. The work is an impression of my own experience in that moment of unified dialog with nature, in the first and only interaction with each space. Translating elemental expressions of the surrounding, I become the movement of the landscape at key points in the day, when evidence of time is most present. This experience is meant to cultivate a sense of connectedness and purity of present-mindedness.
